Not many of the grown-up adult people who loves to read know Jeff Kinley.
But ask every grade school or middle schooler who he is and they would tell you that he is the author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Thanks to my nine-year old niece who collected all of his four books, and plus the fact that time is always on my side nowadays, I managed to finish all four books in two days. You could actually finish all four in one day but I just took some time to look at his funny sketches. It reached the New York Times best seller's list so I gave it a try. Just so ridiculous to think that I enjoyed every bit and every page of it. It was just spot-on humor and natural comedy. It's just basically a kid trying to survive middle school, crazy set of friends and a dysfunctional family and every humiliation that came with it.
I was never a fan of reading comic books growing up, that was probably the missing part of my childhood. haha.
I know that they released a film about the first book but I don't want to see it just yet, just because for the reason that I don't want to disappoint myself again. Like I always do when I see movie adaptations of the books that I dearly love.
The fifth installment of the book is coming out on November 9th. And I am ashamed to admit that I couldn't wait to read a book that is supposed to be for kids to enjoy.
