:/

A beloved patient of mine died today. Three weeks ago he told me, "Child, my time is almost near, may you have a good life."

His name was Celso, he was 98. I would visit him twice or thrice a week in his home, lying in his bed where he spent most of his deteriorating months. He was old yet he was still very particular with neatness and orderliness. He would proudly talk about his wife and his children, though he really couldn't remember how many grandchildren he had. Some days, he would ask the same thing over and over again. Some days he would tell me random stories about his life. I've always loved being around old people, they all have this hunger and thirst to impart their wisdom and knowledge to someone before they leave this earth. Their touch is different than any other people, it is almost therapeutic. It was his time and with the age that he reached, he probably lived the most out of his life. Now he gets to see what afterlife looks like. He was in so much pain, and I could only hope a brand new world with him being healthy again waiting for him. Life well spent, Lolo Celso. May the Lord embrace you in His loving arms.
