I was in-charge of treating him for over three years.
I can still remember his schedule: MWF 1-3 pm.
Icing. Stretching. Range of motion exercises. Stationary bike. Over head pulley. Parallel bar exercises.
Rehab was a part of his life and routine for the last 15 years of his life.
He is a dentist, and he was only in his 40s when he suffered his first stroke.
I can imagine his battle against depression that he went through having a left-sided paralysis at the prime of his life.
I didn't know if he could still hear me in his deep sleep, but I talked to him, just how I would usually talk to him when he I would treat him.
I talked to his daughters and wife a bit and I got teary-eyed when his wife told me, "Thank you for taking care of Howard"
Life is short. Make memories.
