Ich freut mich...

I have had quite a few job interviews in my life. But this one was different, simply because we were told to answer in German.

I couldn't sleep the night before playing different scenarios in my head. The thought of not being able to answer him because I couldn't understand his question scared the shit out of me. lol I wasn't so confident with my German, so I prayed to God to keep me calm and focused and that I was hoping my German vocabulary won't fail me that day.

I couldn't remember everything, and I don't think it's even right if I post here every detail of it. lol. I just wanted to write something in here, because it is clearly something exciting and life-changing! Haha

Please don't go all german grammar police on me here. I spoke with what I felt was right at that moment. lol

So I stepped in the room with a big grin on my face. I stretched out my hand and said Guten morgen! Wie gehts es Dir? (Good morning! How are you?)

He then asked me to take a seat and asked should we talk in English or in Deutsch.
I took a seat and started shaking my hands in the air. (lol)
Ich spreche sehr gut English, Tagalog und Hiligaynon. Und ich glaube, ich besser Deutsch spreche kann aber jetzt, bin ich noch langsam. Meine hände kann Ihnen sagen, wie nervös bin ich.  (I speak very good English, Tagalog, and Hiligaynon. I believe I can speak better German but I am still slow. And my hands can tell you how nervous I am now.)

He told me in Deutsch to calm down and that I shouldn't worry and I can speak in English if I want to express myself better.
He asked me about my family, my hobbies, my work experiences, what I do now.

He asked me what do I do when a patient gets admitted for Stroke oder Schlaganfall. So I spoke in weird deutsh-english lol. I explained how we treat patients from the ICU up until the day they are hopefully discharged from our care because they are able to perform activities of daily living on their own again. I remember saying the words rollstuhl, bett lagerung, rollator, gleichgewichtstörungen, koordination probleme, rechtseitiger lähmung, laufen, a looot. (Wheelchair, bett positioning, walker, balance problem, coordination problem, right sided weakness, walking.. Lol

remember asking him, Wie finden Sie den Philippinen?
He told me, warm aber sehr schön. He also asked me why are there no smoking sign all around the city.

He asked me if I have any questions. I asked him if there are opportunities for further education oder weitere ausbildung. I think he said, they have.

When the interview was over and I stood up, I extended my arm and grinned (indi lang smile baringis gd ya lol) shook his hand and told him. Danke, Ich freut mich... (Thank you, I'm happy...)

Like an open ended statement. lol
Kurdam si eyay wala na nasugpunan hahahaha

I think the interview went well.
Or basi feeling ko lang ya gle tanan. Haha

*They only hired nurses lol so he's going to endorse us to the head of their rehab facilities when he gets back to Germany. We'll have to do another Skype interview I guess. I only wrote this post kay nasadyahan lang ko sang experience haha)
